FERPA: USC MESA is not requesting student academic records; however, students are responsible for entering, maintaining, and monitoring their A-G courses and grades and honors and awards.

USC MESA does not sell or share student personal information. Student personal information is not used for automated processing purposes and is not sent to third-parties, providers, or contractors. Student personal information is provided by the student, is tied to the application, and is only used internally to support student academic planning efforts. Students are responsible for providing accurate information, maintaining and updating information, and monitoring grades. The office of USC MESA does not maintain or edit student portfolio records.

Pursuant to California Consumer Privacy Act: Students may request a copy of their information and submit a formal request to delete personal information. USC MESA will fulfill verifiable requests to delete personal information under the following circumstances: the information is not being retained per legal requirements; the information is not identified as material in a USC or MESA Cyber Security incident or event; the information is not bound to a retention policy that supersedes this Privacy Policy.

USC MESA may respond to verifiable requests for personal information twice per 12-month period. The categories and pieces of data collected, stored, and retrieved through the USC MESA Student Portfolio include the following:
  • Student provided: First name
  • Student provided: Last name
  • Student provided: School name
  • Student provided: Academic courses and grades
  • Student provided: Academic activities and career planning information
We also collect system provided information. The system information is used to protect student data, execute security activities, troubleshoot failures, and improve the system.
  • System provided: Times and dates of access.
  • System provided: Location of access
  • System provided: Computer, device, and/or network information such as host names and/or ip addresses
  • System provided: Account details such as the portfolio that was accessed and the account owner
  • System provided: Attempts to access and whether the end-user failed or successfully gained access

Students may submit a request to receive a copy of the student provided information or submit a request to delete student provided information through the following:
